Landscaping Ideas & Community Garden

Landscaping Ideas:

To help preserve that water quality of the lakes at Lake Ohana we encourage you to consider these techniques when planning your new Landscape.  Many of these ideas come directly from the local NRSC (Natural Resource Conservation District) Office (either Mills or Pottawattamie County).                                                                 NOTE: AES = Applied Ecological Services, Inc.

Mills County Soil and Water Conservation District: www.mills-swcd.org

West Pottawattamie County Soil and Water Conservation District: www.pottswcd.org

If you would like one-on-one assistance with a Landscape Plan you can contact:                     Rich Maaske of the NRCS at 712-322-2987

Community Garden:

As Phase 1B continues development we will be looking for interested households within Lake Ohana that would like to participate in a Community Garden.  The garden will be planned, paid for and maintained by those who want to participate.  Early in 2008 we will have a planning meeting to select a location and make a plan.  If you are interested in participating please contact:  lakeohana@mail.com

Some photos on this web site represent the developers interpretation of how the area will look once the development is complete.
